Based on the FY 2006 Federal budget, the Office of Biological and Environmental
Research’s Environmental Remediation Sciences Division (ERSD) was
reorganized, consolidating two former research programs - the Natural and
Accelerated Bioremediation Research (NABIR) program and the Environmental
Management Science Program (EMSP) into the Environmental Remediation Sciences
Program (ERSP).
The Environmental Remediation Sciences Program will continue to support
research at universities, national laboratories and private research institutes
that provides the fundamental scientific knowledge needed to address challenging
environmental problems that impede the remediation of contaminated environmental
sites.
