| Jack E. Crow,
Professor and Director of the National High Magnetic
Field Laboratory (NHMFL), received his Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics
from the University of Rochester in 1968. Positions held include: Assistant and
Associates Physicists, Brookhaven National Laboratory, 1967-1973; Associate Professor and
Professor, Temple University, 1973-1989; Chair-Department of Physics, Temple University,
1980-1982; Program Director-Solid State Program, Division of Materials Research, NSF,
1984-1986; Director-Center for Materials Research and Technology, Florida State
University, 1990-1991; Director-National High Magnetic Field Laboratory,
1991-present. Research interests center on experimental studies of high correlated
electron systems including high Tc superconductors, itinerant magnetism, heavy fermion
