broken. The President's FY 2000 Budget Request to Congress contains breakouts of the FY 1998 (actual), FY 1999 (estimate) and FY 2000 (request) Basic Energy Sciences (BES) budgets. The document describes in some detail the mission and goals of the BES program, FY 1998 accomplishments, the research activities and facilities operations that the BES program supports, performance measures, and the proposed future directions of the BES program.
