Laboratory One-Pager Request -- Information, Requirements, Examples, and a Template

Dear Materials Sciences & Engineering Laboratory Manager or Coordinator:

We request each Laboratory to submit electronically in Microsoft Word (new or updated) one-page summaries to Dale Koelling for each research activity that is supported as an independent research project which may have multiple investigators working on it. (There could be single investigator projects, also.)  Each project may be covered by a stand-alone FWP (Field Work Proposal) or it may be one of a number of subtasks under a common FWP. We are not requesting these one-page summaries from the facilities. Bill needs them by December 1, 2005.  If you have questions about whether or how an activity fits or whether it should be reported in parts, then please call us.

Please provide the information as shown in the template (linked below).  The size of your response to each section is entirely at your discretion except that the total length must be kept to a single page.  To insure uniformity, you should adhere to the following Format Requirements

  • Microsoft word

  • Times New Roman font 10 point font and single line spacing

  • no illustrations

  • bold section headings as shown in the template --- but nothing else should be bold, underlined, italicized, or otherwise highlighted

  • uniform 1" margins on all sides

  • Please also see the two illustrative examples and the template, provided in the links below.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
