Proposal Preparation and Submission

National Laboratories:

Research proposals from the DOE laboratories are submitted through the normal laboratory process as supplements to the appropriate field task proposals. Information can be obtained from the appropriate contact points at the DOE laboratories that are currently supported by the program, or from the program office.  Click here for a list of all Office of Science solicitations open to the Laboratories.

Other Federal Agencies:

The proposal format that other Federal agencies should use to submit a proposal to DOE's Office of Science can be found  here.

Educational and Other Research Institutions:

A listing of currently open solicitations can be found on the DOE Office of Science Grants and Contracts Website.  Research proposals should be prepared and submitted in accord with the Application Guide for the Office of Energy Research Financial Assistance Program. The guide also explains the proposal review process.  The Grants and Contracts site also has necessary forms available online.

Office of Science policy encourages a potential applicant to first discuss his/her proposed research project with SC program staff to clarify areas of research interests prior to submitting applications.

Additional Grants Information can be found at www.grants.gov.
